Introducing NYC Menswear Brand Corridor

Corridor Men’s Clothing – A New York Origin Story

Working out of a sixth-floor walk-up in New York City’s Northeast Corridor, designer Dan Snyder’s clothing brand ‘Corridor’ was born. Seven years on, Corridor offers a full menswear collection at it’s 3 stores and a host of carefully selected retailers including Mr and Mrs Stitch. Immersed in New York culture, and staying true to it’s origins, the brand adopts both it’s name and aesthetic influence from it’s immediate surroundings.

Dan’s creative expression as sole designer is evident throughout the ethical approach, quality finish, and distinctive design in every piece. The menswear brand has modern contemporary feel, ranging from downtown casual-wear to utility inspired apparel.

Wearing The Look – New York Native

With pieces ranging from short sleeve shirts, to overshirts, shackets, and jackets, you really get a sense of Corridor’s American roots in the bold stripes, natural fabrics and subdued urban colour palette. The look is best when worn open over a t-shirt or undershirt and paired with straight cut jeans, pants or cropped chinos.

This is a casual look that combines comfort that can be worn everyday, and the style and quality that lends itself perfectly to any urban social occasion.

Where to wear it – 3 NYC Urban/Trendy Locales

1. The Dead Rabbit

The Dead Rabbit is one of our favorites; it’s the perfect spot to pop in for a working class drink or something a bit more upmarket with the unparalleled attention to the detail on their cocktail menu. We love the many shared synergies, but to not least because of the New York City / Belfast City connection that mirrors Mr and Mrs Stitch Belfast grassroots and Corridor’s NYC origins. This Bar was dreamed up by two Belfast Bar Vets, who landed in JFK and decided to roll up their sleeves and bring world class cocktails and an Irish bar vibe to New Yorks Fraunces Tavern Block Historic Block.

2. Grimm Artisanal Ales

If you are looking for a more relaxed hipster vibe, it’s ‘Ale’ in the name if you’ll pardon the pun. There is nothing quite as hipster as an Artisan Ale, especially when it is being poured for you straight from the Brooklyn Brewery. Just when you think it doesn’t get any fresher than that, Grimm are constantly developing adventurous new flavours, and equally creative names, only matched by the ales quirky label artwork. Our favourite is the ‘Black Forest’ Dark Sour Ale.

3. Caledonia Bar

Looking for the perfect place to cap off the day with short drink; then the self professed ‘world’s least pretentious whisky bar’, The Caledonia is that place. With one of the best selections of whiskey’s, great cocktails and nibbles, you will definitely find a tipple to suit your taste at this quintessential Scottish bar. Staying true to the Scottish vibe the bar takes the form of a long narrow hall, with the bar and barstools running it’s length. The quality service and atmosphere at this venue leaves you ending the day on on a high note.
