Named after an English town in Berkshire, the story of this premier-shirt maker actually began in 1928 in the small Swedish town of Gangchester when Annie and David Petterson made the decision to sell sew shirts in their kitchen. These shirts became synonymous with handcrafted quality and developed quite the reputation amongst locals. Yet, it was the fifities which would see this shirt production expand into the Eton brand that is so acclaimed today. An innovative factory which enhanced production was constructed in the late 40’s with another period of expansion taking place to England in 1955.
The expansion to England led to the creation of ‘Eton’ and continual success ensued, a success predicated on use of only the finest cottons and the most diligent design process. Just like it’s educational namesake, Eton shirts are a byword for class.
