Merino is one of the finest and most durable wools one can buy. With self cleaning properties, a merino wool knit can be worn several times before having to be washed, thus prolonging the lifespan of the item. Since lockdown No.1, we have been recommending knitted merino crew neck, zip neck and button polo shirts as a new staple to the corporate at home worker. The Merino Polo has been adopted over the last few seasons by celebrity TV pundits as a clean alternative to the structured shirt. Worn under any blazer the polo shirt looks very smart and we predict it will remain a favorite going into the future.
How to wear it? If you're concerned that the fabric is too fine and might show off a few lumps and bumps that you would prefer to keep hidden, simply try a fine tee shirt underneath. With the zip neck knits a t-shirt looks fresh and clean, but it also looks very well with a semi structured or structured shirt underneath. Our collection from Thomas Main are designed to frame their shirts, with the height of the jumpers collar being a few millimeters below the top of the shirt collar.
Graphic merinos. Very rarely do we see the graphic merino, but this season Paul Smith has produced this amazing example. On the chest you will see the stunning mountainscape made from the softest brushed merino strands making it both striking and very tactile. An ideal gift for the man that likes a little detail.
