As ambassadors of modern and classic cocktails, we get our latest #BRIGHTERDAYS recipe from top bartender Dave Mullholland from Margot.

OPERATION REMEDY

Ingredients

  • 50ml Toasted Oat Gin
  • 100ml Almond Milk
  • 20ml Homemade Strawberry Cordial
  • Strawberry Cream

The plan

We have decided to make this fun and give you a deluxe recipe with extra garnish to try at home. Do the preparation and the results will be worth is!


Add all ingredients to blender, bar strawberry cream, add roughly a handful of ice of 6 or 7 cubes and blend until until smooth.
Pour into Tall glass. Add strawberry cream to a sandwich bag and make small cut in corner and pipe on top.
Drizzle a small amount of strawberry cordial over top and sprinkle toasted oats as garnish

The Preparations

TOASTED OAT GIN

  • 45g Regular Porridge Oats
  • 500ml good quality gin, such as Tanqueray

Pre heat oven to 180 degree/gas mark 4. Place oats on a baking tray and bake in oven for 8 minutes, OR until golden brown. Remove from oven and leave to cool. Keep a few to side for Garnish.
Add oats to a ziploc sandwich bag along with gin and seal it to maximum without spillage. Allow to sit somewhere warm for 4 hours to infuse, strain out oats and bottle gin.

STRAWBERRY CORDIAL

  • 170g Strawberries (frozen or fresh)
  • 250g caster sugar
  • 250ml water

Add sugar and water to a pan and bring to a simmer, stirring continuously until all sugar is dissolved. Set to side and allow to cool, then add strawberries and blend with a stick blender until smooth. Pass through a colander or muslin to remove strawberry pulp and bottle syrup.

STRAWBERRY CREAM

  • 50ml Strawberry Cordial
  • 150ml Double Cream (Alpro Soy Cream works well for vegans)

Add to bowl and whisk until aerated and forms slight peak.
