Frequently Asked Questions

What is EU 41 in UK sizes for Victoria trainers?

It depends which half of the range you are in, and this is the thing that catches people out. In the women's range EU 41 is a UK 8. In the men's range EU 41 is a UK 7. Full conversion, women's: UK 3 is EU 36, 4 is 37, 5 is 38, 6 is 39, 7 is 40, 8 is 41. Men's: UK 7 is EU 41, 8 is 42, 9 is 43, 10 is 44, 11 is 45, 12 is 46.

Do Victoria trainers run big or small?

Yes, we find they run small. Compared to Paul Smith trainers, we would recommend going up a size.

Are Victoria trainers made in Spain?

The company is Spanish and has been since 1915, when it started in La Rioja, and its heritage canvas plimsolls are made there. The leather and technical trainers we stock are made in China, which the product descriptions state, using LWG certified cowhide leather. We would rather be straight about that than let the founding story do work it should not be doing.

Do Victoria make men's trainers?

Yes, and they are hard to find in the UK because most retailers carry only the women's and kids' lines. We stock men's styles in UK 7 to 12, including the Smash in suede, the Bolt in nylon, the Wing Evo and the Root.

When was Victoria founded?

1915, in a small village in La Rioja in northern Spain, when a man named Gregorio made a sneaker and named it after his wife Victoria. The company marked 110 years in 2025. Its canvas sneaker, which came out of adopting vulcanisation in the 1950s, became the symbol of a generation of Spanish teenagers in the 1980s.

Why do Victoria shoes smell of strawberries?

A post war workaround that became a trademark. When natural rubber was scarce, Victoria started recycling tyres to make soles, and added a strawberry perfume to cover the smell of them. It is the kind of detail that explains a brand better than any amount of heritage copy.

How do I clean Victoria suede and nylon trainers?

Not the way you would clean canvas plimsolls, which is what most advice online assumes. For the suede styles, use a suede protector before you wear them, brush dry with a suede brush and treat marks with a suede eraser. For nylon uppers, wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap. Keep both out of the washing machine, which will ruin the leather and the bonded sole.
