Smells Like Home - Paul Smith Home Fragrances
Share

With the darkening days and colder nights, most of us are spending more time at home for the winter and getting ready for the festive season, and Paul Smith has given us the perfect way to enhance our period of hibernation: Introducing Paul Smith’s home fragrance collection. The collection is centred around four provocative scents, which were created in recollection of some of Paul Smith’s most cherished memories. The scents were formulated using raw and natural ingredients from across the world and using some of the best ingredients for truly complex and intoxicating smells.
However, as someone who’s deep appreciation for design is synonymous with their entire being, Paul Smith could not only create beautiful scents, and created stunning vessels crafted from two-toned glass that not only represents the scent, but also the memory Paul associates them with. The glass vessels are wonderfully decorative but are also designed to be used after the candle or diffuser is finished as a wonderful keepsake. The pieces are made with a contrasting-coloured lids that double as coasters to protect surfaces when they are in use.
Bookworm: Warm and Woody
The scent bookworm is a warm woody scent with hints of citrus and berry that balance and complicate the smell. Bookworm was created to replicate the feeling of being surrounded by endless shelves of interesting books, stacks of writing, and the blossoming of creativity, which is what Paul experiences in his Covent Garden office. It is a smell for those who feel at home in a stack of books on a rainy day and have lived many lives from the comfort of their favourite armchair.

Botanist: Fresh and Earthy
Botanist has a distinct earthiness to it, with a touch of pepper and citrus that add warmth and freshness to the scent. Made in the memory of how Paul Smith used to perfume his new first shop in Nottingham, this scent envelops you the feeling of being surrounded by nature. A very calming and grounding scent, especially for city dwellers, this fragrance has reminiscences of botanic gardens, early morning gardening, and magical woodland adventures. This scent is for those love leisurely tending to their gardens and are comforted by the lazy swaying of trees and sounds of nature.

Early Bird: Floral Rain
With the memories of early London mornings, and the burst of energy from a brisk walk through the rain, Early Bird is a multifaceted scent, with hints of patchouli and leather, and the encircling smell of rain. This scent was created from Paul’s memories of visiting his Mayfair flagship, and the weathered cast iron railings that encompass it, especially when hit with a shower of rain, and the resulting smell is an expressive tribute to the British weather, and the mystic, thrilling way things are altered by the rain. This smell is for all the memories made in the rain, and its ability to create the richest nostalgia.

Daydreamer: Sweet Citrus and Herby
Inspired by the dreamlike state we all experience when on holiday, Daydreamer has a wonderful sweet citrus scent of lavender and verbena, with some of clary sage adding some earthiness. Inspired by Paul’s fond memories of his trips to the south of France, this intoxicating scent smells of sunshine in a wildflower meadow, hazy warm summer days, and sweet sun-kissed fruit. This scent is for those with hearts of wanders, those who romanticise simple everyday acts, and those who find beauty in the unpretentious pleasures.
