A.P.C employs a subtle approach to design which is key in creating their signature minimalist look. For spring summer 2020, the emphasis on quality is evident in their Japanese selvedge denim jeans, which offer understated sophistication and through time will mould to your shape and become your best friend. This season also sees an exciting collaboration with Carhartt using a combined logo printed on sweats, tees and a trade mark work wear jacket.
A.P.C’s beginnings can be traced to 1987 when designer Jean Touitou was inspired to create his own range of denim. As a consequence of losing luggage on a flight to Barcelona, Touitou was forced begin an impromptu search to replace his misplaced jeans and such was his discontent with the offering available to him he decided to produce a denim range which accentuated quality above the badly washed styles and poorly produced jeans which were most prominent in the market.
The Japanese selvedge denim which has allowed A.P.C to become the acclaimed brand it is today was first introduced to Touitou by a designer friend. The combination of this distinctive style of denim along with Toutiou’s upbringing around Swedish fashion informs the signature minimalist outlook which is visible in all of A.P.C pieces.
